Top Gear tests the second-generation 992 Porsche 911 GT3, comparing it to the GT3 RS and Touring. While the RS pushes extremes and the S/T offers a classical, lighter approach, the GT3 now bridges both worlds—track-capable yet road-friendly. Updates include revised suspension geometry, shorter bump stops, new damper strategies, and cylinder head tweaks, keeping power at 503 hp and torque slightly lower at 332 lb-ft with an 8% shorter final drive.
The car feels flatter, more stable, and responsive, with enhanced steering precision and anti-dive under braking. On track, the manual gearbox heightens driver engagement, and braking, ride, and balance remain exemplary. GT3 chief Jörg Bergmeister highlights the new suspension travel and damping philosophy borrowed from RS development, optimizing handling over kerbs and bumps.
On the road, the GT3 Touring blends usability with performance, featuring rear seats, folding carbon buckets, and configurable drive modes. The car feels sharper than an S/T, yet less extreme than an RS, offering superb balance, feedback, and agility.
