Misha Charoudin drives the Porsche 991.1 Turbo S flat out on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, showcasing the immense performance of Porsche’s all-wheel-drive supercar. The seventh-generation 991-series Porsche 911 combined decades of Porsche engineering into a lighter, more capable design.
Revealed at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, it rode on an entirely new platform—only the third clean-sheet redesign since the 911’s 1963 debut. Although larger and heavier than before, the 991 was widely seen as a major improvement, and sales were strong by 2013. That same year, Porsche introduced the Turbo and Turbo S Cabriolet models, giving the advanced chassis the performance to match.
The Turbo S used a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six producing 552 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. This allowed 0–62 mph in about three seconds—quicker than the Ferrari 458 Spider—and a top speed of 198 mph.
