A Low-Mileage US-Market Carrera GT Heads to Auction

One of only 644 Porsche Carrera GTs delivered to the US

This 2005 Porsche Carrera GT is a landmark supercar that redefined performance when it debuted in 2003, combining advanced engineering with striking design. Born from a motorsport-led program, the Carrera GT pairs a 605-hp, all-aluminum V-10 with a 6-speed transaxle and the world’s first road-car 220-lb carbon-fiber monocoque, F1-style pushrod inboard suspension, 15-inch carbon-ceramic discs and 19″/20″ center-lock magnesium wheels on Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

Aerodynamic engineering—three-piece belly pan, rear diffuser and an auto-deploy spoiler—yields nearly 900 lbs of downforce at 185 mph and helps the Carrera GT reach a 205 mph top speed, while the cockpit combines handcrafted leather, air conditioning, power windows and a Porsche Online Pro CD system for  daily use.

This rare example, serial number 0534, completed production on 23 December 2004 and is one of approximately 644 U.S. models. Finished in Seal Grey Metallic over Dark Grey leather, it includes factory options such as higher sport seats, air conditioning, CD system, and matching Dark Grey luggage. Delivered in 2005 to the Bay Area, it shows just 2,147 miles and received a $45,194 service in March 2025 at Porsche Sugar Land covering fluids, filters, spark plugs, tires, battery, clutch, and rear-axle maintenance.

Merging race-derived performance, cutting-edge technology, and timeless design, this Carrera GT remains a highly coveted supercar and is estimated at $1.8–$2.2 million for RM Sotheby’s Arizona auction on January 23.
