Ultra-Rare Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport to be Auctioned

Number 37 of the 77 examples produced

The Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport is one of the most extreme interpretations of the 911 ever built. Conceived by Style Porsche’s Grant Larson and Thorsten Klein, its design combines modern racing proportions with subtle nods to Porsche’s heritage. The roofline and hood recall the GT3 R, yet every other panel is unique, stretched low and wide over pronounced haunches.

Dominating the rear is a vast wing inspired by Martini Racing’s 1970s 935s, supported by additional bracing to handle immense downforce. A full-width LED strip featuring illuminated Porsche script and digital mirrors underscores its futuristic design. Inside, the rennsport comes with a single fixed racing seat with a six-point harness, FIA roll cage, and safety nets.

At its core lies a highly tuned 4.2-liter flat-six paired to a six-speed sequential gearbox with electrohydraulic clutch. Derived from the GT3 R but freed from racing restrictions, it develops 612 bhp at a soaring 9,400 rpm. Lightweight components, a single-mass flywheel, and six individual throttle bodies sharpen its delivery. With a curb weight target of just 1,240 kg, the car achieves an extraordinary two kilograms per horsepower ratio.

The chassis builds on GT3 R fundamentals with rennsport-specific tuning. Double-wishbone front suspension and a multilink rear work with five-way adjustable dampers and Michelin racing tires on forged BBS wheels. Braking is provided by aluminum monobloc calipers and ventilated steel discs, complemented by Bosch Race ABS.

Only 77 examples of the GT3 R rennsport were produced. Each of them was customizable, starting with a baseline Agate Grey Metallic body-in-white with exposed carbon. Buyers could also select from three exclusive liveries—Rennsport Reunion, Flacht, or Speed Icons—priced at €123,000 each.

This car, number 37 in the series, was ordered new by the consignor with both options specified. It features the €123,000 “Flacht Design” livery in Porsche Motorsport’s red-and-white colors applied to its carbon-fiber body, paired with red harnesses to match the scheme. Delivered directly from Porsche, it has remained in collection storage since new in as-delivered condition.

This Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport will be offered at Broad Arrow Auctions’ Zoute Concours Auction on 10 October 2025, with an estimate of $1,644,000–$1,996,000. It comes with original delivery items, digital purchase documentation, and shows only test and delivery kilometers on its digital race dash.
