Paint to Sample GT Silver - 1 of 39 PTS 4.0L's delivered to the World

When a 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 PTS comes to market with a price-tag approaching $3M, believe me, we take notice!

Background

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0, unveiled in 2011, marked the ultimate evolution of the 997-generation 911. Limited to just 600 units worldwide, it was the swan song for Porsche’s legendary naturally aspirated Mezger flat-six engine. Displacing 4.0 liters, the motor produced 500 horsepower at 8,250 rpm and 339 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful road-going naturally aspirated 911 ever built at the time. The car combined lightweight construction with motorsport-derived aerodynamics, including a large rear wing, front dive planes, and extensive use of carbon fiber, giving it remarkable track capability while remaining road-legal.

Performance was staggering: 0–60 mph in 3.8 seconds and a Nürburgring lap time under 7 minutes 30 seconds. Weighing just 2,998 pounds, the GT3 RS 4.0 delivered a visceral, analogue driving experience that many enthusiasts regard as the pinnacle of the 911 lineage. Car and Driver praised it as “the most intoxicating 911 of all time, combining purity of purpose with an engine that sings to the heavens,” highlighting its precision and engagement in a way few modern cars can match. Today, the GT3 RS 4.0 is considered both a collector’s gem and a benchmark for what a naturally aspirated performance car can achieve.
