The Ultimate AWD Drag Race
The website Carwow wanted to see just how the New Porsche 911 Carrera 4S stacks up against the other all-wheel-drive high-end sports cars out there. That meant the company had to stage a serious test, and that led the testers to the drag strip. The company took the new Carrera 4S and put it up against an Audi R8, Nissan GT-R Nismo, and a BMW M850i. The Porsche 911 Carrera 4S comes with a turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six engine. That engine produces 443 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque. When compared to the cars it was racing, the Porsche might seem a little outmatched. However, it’s all about how the car can put that power down to the wheels and then transform that into acceleration. The guys doing the video also did a rolling start race and a brake test, which proved just as entertaining as the drag race.
I’m not going to ruin the video results by discussing them here. I will say the results are somewhat surprising. You might not expect to see what happens. Some of the results can be attributed to the drivers, but it really appears that everyone does a good job of driving the cars to their fullest.
