After commanding the spotlight at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Singer brought its “reimaginations” to the Pacific Northwest, where Stuttcars correspondent Tina Chau experiences the Classic Turbo for the first time.
Singer Vehicle Design is having a rock star moment this year. Car enthusiasts from around the world who attended the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, had the opportunity to see examples of the company’s works as artwork, display models, and speed machines. Walking up to the Goodwood House, spectators could gaze up to the sky and see examples of the brand’s Classic, Classic Turbo, and DLS restoration services suspended mid-air in a towering triple arch structure designed by acclaimed artist, Gerry Judah.
Aside from being the Central Feature, the California-based car company held its annual display outside the Stable Yard, where it presented the global debut of a Topaz Blue Slantnose, a bespoke example of Singer’s Classic Turbo services. Also, at the stand was a very special Porsche 911 reimagined by Singer – DLS Turbo – referred to as the ‘GOAT’ commission by its owner and showcased in a ruby-tinted carbon fiber exterior. Alongside was a Black Metallic cabriolet restored through Singer’s Classic Turbo services and making its own global introduction, benefitting from chassis strengthening developed in collaboration with Red Bull Advanced Technologies. Then an example of Singer’s DLS (Dynamics and Lightweighting Study) services , specified by its owner with aerodynamically optimized carbon fiber bodywork in Guards Red with exterior trim in polished aluminum, and an eye-catching Porsche Light Yellow example of Singer’s original Classic services.
