RUF CTR Drag Races Against The Iconic Supercars Of The 1990s

The RUF CTR was first introduced in 1987 as a modified version of Porsche’s 3.2 flat six. It features a roll cage, upgraded suspension and brakes, a fully customized 5-speed transmission, and unique body parts. This car is based on the 911 Carrera 3.2, and it’s lighter and has a lower drag coefficient compared to the 930, which was Porsche’s factory turbocharged version of the 911. By using many aluminum parts, Ruf was able to decrease the weight of the CTR by 422 lbs.

The engine also has twin turbochargers and twin intercoolers, which bring the total output to 463 hp and 408 lb/ft of torque. The car can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 210 mph, making it the fastest production car of its time.

Check out the video below as the Yellowbird showcases its capabilities despite its age. You also get to see it drag race and win against other iconic vehicles from the 1980s and 1990s, including the Porsche 930 Turbo, Ferrari F40, Acura NSX, and Dodge Viper ACR!
