Few dispute the Porsche 911’s status as the ultimate sports car, having evolved continuously for over 60 years—from its original 2.0-liter coupe to today’s high-performance variants. Still, Los Angeles musician and Porsche fan Rob Dickinson believed there was more potential. In 2009, he founded Singer, transforming the air-cooled 964 into a reimagined version of the 911.
Singer’s “Classic” services became legendary, and the introduction of the “Classic Turbo” continued this legacy. Inspired by the iconic 930 Turbo, the program debuted in 2022 after years of development. Using the 964 as its foundation, Singer integrates lightweight composites, custom parts, and subtle design cues honoring the original 930. Power comes from a 3.8-liter twin-turbo Mezger engine producing over 500 bhp, with a 6-speed manual and custom suspension.
Bonhams Cars will auction a turbocharged Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer, known as the Sun Valley Commission, this weekend with only 267 miles since completion. This car was featured in Chris Harris’ 40-minute film introducing Singer’s Classic Turbo line and is the first of its kind publicly offered for sale.
Built around a fully restored 964 chassis, it features lightweight carbon fiber panels crafted in the UK, styled after the wide-bodied 930, and finished in one-off Dirty Oak Green Metallic. It is complemented by 18-inch black-centered Fuchs-style wheels and a whole paint-protection film.
Inside, ivory leather seats with woven olive inserts pay homage to the 930’s tombstone seats but with modern comfort and bolstering. The sophisticated interior has Olive green carpeting, black wood accents, and clever storage touches. A Singer Reimagined Flytrack watch is included, matching the car’s serial number.
Under the rear deck sits a 3.8L twin-turbo flat-six producing 510bhp, paired with a 6-speed manual, Bosch traction control, and a titanium exhaust. Fitted with Singer’s sport suspension and carbon ceramic Brembo brakes, the Sun Valley Commission is expected to fetch up to $2,250,000 at the auction.
