Porsche 914/6 GT ONS R1 (Chassis #143 0140)

After participating in the 1971 Monte Carlo Rally, where the crew of Ake Andersson/Bo Thorszelius (pictured right, registration plate SY 7715) retired due to gearbox failure, and training in April of the same year for the Targa Florio Rally, chassis No. 914.143.0140 (engine 6408007) was, on the personal initiative of Herbert Linge, converted into a rapid response rescue vehicle.
It was equipped with a set of special tools and a large-volume powder fire extinguisher. The Porsche 914/6 GT was given a red and white registration plate (S-04624) for special vehicles. It was the first “rapid response” vehicle in motorsport.

In 1971-1973, it was on duty at the races held at the Nurburgring, Hockenheim. The distinctive feature of the 1971 model is the “old, rally” body color, a yellow flashing beacon and the absence of white stripes on the hood, roof and trunk.
