To celebrate its 70th anniversary, Porsche unveiled the 991 Speedster concept at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, with the production version debuting in New York in April 2019 and deliveries starting the following month. Limited to 1,948 units in tribute to Porsche’s founding year, the Speedster was the final model of the 991 generation, all of which sold out quickly.
The Speedster combines the GT3’s chassis with the Carrera 4 Cabriolet’s body and is powered by a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six from the GT3 RS, producing 502 horsepower and 346 lb-ft of torque through a six-speed manual gearbox shared with the 911 R.
Distinctive features include the trademark twin rear cowlings, carbon-fibre front wings, bonnet, and hood cover, a GT3 rear bumper, and Speedster-specific front aero. Standard equipment includes a leather interior with perforated seats, red-tinted daytime running lights, stone guards, titanium exhaust, and carbon-ceramic brakes.
Offered for sale on Bring a Trailer, this 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster is number 1,643 of 1,948 built and remains in near-new condition with only 25 miles on the odometer. Finished in Jet Black Metallic, it features LED headlights with PDLS, a speed-activated rear spoiler, dual exhaust outlets, and satin black stone guards on the rear quarters.
It rides on center-locking 20″ forged alloy wheels with Michelin tires, while stopping power comes from Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes with branded calipers. Standard equipment includes PASM, PSM, and rear-axle steering, with this car also fitted with the optional front-axle lift system.
The interior features carbon-fiber full bucket seats trimmed in black leather extending throughout the cabin, complemented by carbon-fiber accents. Equipment includes the Chrono Package, Bose sound system, illuminated carbon-fiber door sills, Voice Control, auto-dimming mirrors, Light Design Package, fire extinguisher, PCM with navigation, dual-zone climate control, and cruise control.
