FOR SALE: 1992 Porsche 911 Carrera RS Clubsport N/GT

One of only 20 N/GT ‘Macau’ produced

In the early 1990s, Porsche sought to showcase its 964 Carrera lineup on the international racing scene. To that end, it produced limited competition-ready versions of both rear- and all-wheel-drive models. Just 22 lightweight C4 coupes were made, while the Carrera 2 platform underpinned the successful Carrera Cup and the road-legal Carrera RS.

The RS then evolved into the N/GT, tailored for Group N and ADAC racing. Featuring the M003 package, the N/GT was stripped of insulation, fitted with lightweight components, and equipped with a Matter roll cage, a larger fuel tank, Nomex racing seats, a kill switch, and a fire extinguisher.

Powered by a naturally aspirated 3.6L M64/03 flat-six, it produced up to 270 hp and drove the rear wheels through a lightweight drivetrain. Porsche built 20 uniquely colored N/GTs for a Macau race series that was later canceled; these cars, modified with luxury interiors, were sold in Japan and eventually became rare collectibles.

One of them has recently popped up for sale on Sotheby’s Motorsport, and this particular example is finished in Crystal Silver with a bespoke blue interior and ‘Carrera RS’ embroidery. It was first delivered in Japan and then exported to Germany in 2014 before arriving in the US in 2023.

Showing just over 43,000 kilometers, it remains entirely unmodified and still retains its Clubsport features such as magnesium Cup wheels, Bilstein suspension, and Schroth harnesses. Accompanied by original documents, this rare N/GT ‘Macau’ example will surely appeal to discerning collectors seeking a factory-built Porsche.
