The Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport, revealed at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, is the ultimate track-only evolution of the 991 generation and Porsche’s most powerful customer race car. Powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six producing 700 hp and 750 Nm, it shares its PDK gearbox with the road-going GT2 RS but gains a freer exhaust and motorsport-tuned chassis from Porsche’s Flacht facility.
Weighing just 1,390 kg, it uses extensive carbon fibre and a stripped cabin with racing equipment. Aerodynamics are enhanced with a massive wing and dive planes, while racing suspension, slick tyres, and advanced brakes maximize performance.
Currently offered for sale through RM Sotheby’s, this Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport is the 25th of only 200 examples produced. Originally delivered new in August 2019 to Formula One World Champion Max Verstappen. Documentation includes a bill of sale noting the car’s delivery with an additional set of wheels and a spares package.
Verstappen ran the car with the track support of Dutch Porsche specialists GP Elite, a team renowned across the Benelux region for its work in the Carrera Cup and Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup competitions. In January 2020, Verstappen and his father, former Formula 1 driver Jos Verstappen, drove the car at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya during filming for the Dutch miniseries “Max Verstappen: Whatever It Takes.”
The car bears Verstappen’s autograph in three places—the passenger dashboard, engine bay, and front hood—and its digital display displays his name alongside that of his manager, Raymond Vermeulen. A photograph of Verstappen signing the car accompanies the sale, further solidifying its provenance. Imported from Belgium to the United States in 2022, the Clubsport has been kept in static storage since then.
