- A rare and homologation-focused Porsche, the 924 Carrera GT was built to qualify the 924 for Group 4 racing, with just 400 examples produced. This is chassis number 201, noted as the first car to be sold outside of Germany in-period.
- It is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-four, delivering its power to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
- Originally supplied to Italy, this example has notable provenance, having previously belonged to Heinz and son Franzl Emmerling, well-known for their Porsche builds in the early 1990s.
- It is now located in Denmark, where it has been with the seller for two years.
- The odometer indicates 4,941 km, though this is not warranted, and the true mileage is believed to be 104,941 km from new.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
- The Carrera GT variant was created to homologate the 924 for Group 4 competition requirements. It used the engine from the 924 Turbo, but added a top-mounted intercooler, electronic ignition, and a higher compression ratio to take power from 170 to 210hp.
- Its appearance was also significantly changed, with flared wheel arches, a deep front splitter, a prominent bonnet scoop to feed the intercooler, and a larger rear spoiler.
- Bilstein sport shock absorbers were standard, with a ride height 10mm lower at the front and 15mm at the rear than the standard road-going Porsche 924.
- This example is finished in the iconic hue of Guards Red, over a black part vinyl and black and red pinstripe cloth-trimmed interior, featuring red seat piping.
- It rides on a set of 16-inch Fuchs forged alloy wheels finished in matte-black with anodised lips, fitted with Bridgestone S-02 tyres.
- Equipment includes a stronger battery, a green top-tinted windscreen, pop-up headlights, a rear screen wiper, a VDO analogue clock, and heater and ventilation controls.
- This example has been fitted with a Mini Trip rally trip metre and a dashboard-mounted twin stopwatch holder.
- The car is accompanied by its owner’s handbook, a major Porsche Hamburg invoice from 2017, various bills and test results from 2016 to 2018, and a 2018 Classic ‘Fahrzeugbewertung’ (Vehicle Valuation) valuing the car at €83,000.
