The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT boasts astonishing numbers—1,094 horsepower and 1,340 Nm of torque. That’s more than double the output of a 911 GT3 RS. The Weissach variant strips the car down further, featuring a fixed rear wing that delivers 220 kg of downforce at 189 mph, carbon-backed buckets, a unique steering wheel, and a long list of weight-saving deletions, including the rear seats, sound insulation, rear speakers, one of the two charge ports, and even the dash clock.
With launch control engaged, the car explodes to 62 mph in just 2.2 seconds on road tires, making it the fastest-accelerating production Porsche ever built. It’s a four-door sedan built to compete against the likes of the Tesla Model S Plaid Track Pack and the Lucid Air Sapphire, both of which also boast over 1,000 hp from their electric powertrains.
The DragTimes YouTube channel has already proven that the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package has demonstrated its speed against the Tesla Model S Plaid in a previous race. This time around, they’re lining it up against the Lucid Air Sapphire, which comes with over 250 horsepower more than the Porsche.
Watch the video to see if the new top-dog Taycan has enough power to outrun a Lucid Air Sapphire in a series of drag races at Benton Motorsports Park.
