Two brand-new KALMAR RS-7s went straight from delivery to the Alps, where their owners joined the first wave of the 2026 KALMAR Beyond Adventure Alps Circumference.
In total, four customer-owned KALMAR cars took part alongside the Beyond Adventure fleet. The group covered more than 2,000 km across the Alps, with over 40,000 meters of altitude.
The route included some of the Alps’ famous passes, including Cime de la Bonette, Col du Granon, Furka, Splügen, Stelvio. But the adventure also took the group onto less obvious roads and hidden tracks discovered during KALMAR Beyond Adventure’s recce work.
Recceing the route is essential to preparing every Beyond Adventure. The team spends time driving and checking the roads before the customers arrive, finding the sections that make the route worth driving and ensuring they work for both the cars and the group.
The RS-7 is KALMAR’s take on the Porsche 997, developed to combine serious road performance with the ability to handle demanding terrain. With increased ground clearance, hydraulic suspension and protection for tougher conditions, it is built to be driven rather than parked.
As Jan Kalmar says: “Cars are meant to be used — sometimes abused — and not only looked at.”
That is exactly what happened with the two new RS-7s. Instead of going from the workshop to the garage, they went straight into several days of Alpine driving with their owners.
The first wave started on 1 September and finished in Bergamo on 9 September. The second wave starts in Antibes on 16 September, with another group heading across the Alps towards Bergamo.
