Welcome to a conversion that combines capabilities such as off-road driving, normal driving and comfort – unheard of in a sports car. The KALMAR Beyond Adventure range is engineered for enthusiasts who do more than talk about off-road driving—they embrace it. The RS-7 concept is a distinctive coachbuilt conversion that seamlessly combines urban usability with genuine off-road capability while standing apart from conventional sports cars. The result is a refined grand tourer with a rugged personality and unmistakable presence.
“We dare with the “RS-7 ” to call ourselves true coachbuilders”
The RS-7 is neither a track-focused machine nor a high-speed highway racer. Instead, it is a vehicle built for extraordinary experiences while remaining comfortable and practical enough to serve as an everyday car. Its unique styling, versatility, and exceptional ride quality make it unlike any traditional Porsche 911.
Concept
To create the ultimate “Dakar-killer” by blending the strengths of a refined road car with the confidence to tackle sand, mud, and challenging terrain. The concept elevates the iconic Porsche 911 through thoughtful engineering, creating a vehicle that pushes the platform’s boundaries.
“A car that you feel like using and sometimes abusing…”
Giving new life to an existing Porsche represents the purest form of upcycling—enhancing, upgrading, modifying, and engineering an already exceptional automobile into something even more capable. For the RS-7, uncompromising off-road performance and a distinctive visual identity are the driving forces behind the project. Each conversion is built on the final generation of the all-steel Porsche 911 chassis.
Why?
The RS-7 was conceived to create the ultimate “Dakar-killer” by combining the refinement of a sports car with the durability and confidence required for serious off-road driving. It is an engineering exercise that transforms the iconic Porsche 911 into a vehicle capable of thriving far beyond paved roads.
“A car that you feel like using and sometimes abusing…”
Revitalizing a Porsche through extensive engineering and craftsmanship is the essence of upcycling. Rather than replacing the original character of the car, the RS-7 enhances it with increased capability, improved durability, and a bold new identity. Its off-road performance and unmistakable appearance define the philosophy behind the conversion, all while retaining the strength of the final all-steel 911 platform.
The originals
The RS-7 draws inspiration from the legendary rally-prepared Porsche 911s that proved the platform’s remarkable versatility. Those pioneering cars demonstrated that a sports car could excel far beyond the racetrack, conquering deserts, gravel, and demanding terrain while retaining the unmistakable character of the 911.
“A car that you feel like using and sometimes abusing…”
The RS-7 continues that legacy through modern engineering and craftsmanship. By upgrading and refining an existing Porsche, KALMAR creates a vehicle that honors the original while significantly expanding its capabilities. Built on the final all-steel Porsche 911 chassis, the RS-7 combines heritage with innovation in a package designed for both adventure and everyday driving.
The RS-7
Meet a car that challenges conventional expectations. Through innovative engineering and a flexible coachbuilding philosophy, the RS-7 is designed for discerning owners seeking a truly bespoke Porsche tailored to their individual vision.
Using the Porsche 997 as its foundation, the RS-7 delivers a thoroughly modern driving experience complemented by carefully engineered contemporary upgrades. The conversion embodies KALMAR’s vision of modern coachbuilding while preserving the essential character of the donor vehicle. The RS-7 can be built from any Porsche 997 model, regardless of engine specification or drivetrain configuration, including manual, PDK, or automatic transmissions, and is available in both left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive form.
This transformation elevates the Porsche 997 into an entirely new class. The result is a bespoke vehicle with capabilities and styling rarely found in a modern sports car. It is engineered to withstand demanding off-road use while delivering enhanced comfort and distinctive performance. Active suspension and a hydraulic lift system form the centerpiece of the conversion, creating what may be the most versatile Porsche 911 ever built.
The exterior styling has been comprehensively reimagined to give the 997 the visual presence many enthusiasts believe it always deserved. Wider, more aggressive front and rear bodywork, enlarged wheel openings, and increased suspension travel accommodate significantly larger tires while reinforcing the vehicle’s purposeful stance. A modular roof rack provides exceptional versatility, allowing owners to carry everything from spare tires and jerry cans to surfboards and bicycles. Smaller-diameter wheels fitted with taller-profile tires complete the RS-7’s unmistakable appearance.
The original engine and drivetrain are retained, simplifying servicing while preserving Porsche’s proven engineering. Additional cooling improves reliability during demanding low-speed off-road driving, particularly in sand, while a revised exhaust system enhances the engine’s characterful sound. Comprehensive 5 mm aluminum underbody protection delivers exceptional durability, and adaptive shock absorbers introduce an entirely new level of capability, transforming the Porsche 911 into a genuinely capable off-road machine.
