Founded in Los Angeles in 2009 by former Catherine Wheel frontman Rob Dickinson, Singer Vehicle Design has built a global reputation for transforming Porsche 964-generation 911s into highly bespoke, performance-focused machines.
Each restoration begins with a complete disassembly of the donor vehicle down to its steel monocoque chassis, which is reinforced through extensive welding before being reassembled with lightweight carbon-fiber bodywork. Components such as the hood, fenders, bumpers, and rear decklid are replaced with composite panels, while textured urethane elements are used for the lower body sections to enhance durability.
Offered for sale on Bring a Trailer, this 1992 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Coupe, known as the “Elroy” commission, underwent its Singer transformation in June 2023. Finished in paint-to-sample Tangerine Orange with subtle ghosted side stripes and Pistachio-colored Porsche script, the car showcases Singer’s meticulous attention to detail.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter air-cooled flat-six developed by Ed Pink Racing Engines which sends powers to all four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential. Equipped with individual throttle bodies, an Emtron engine management system, and a ceramic-coated intake plenum, the engine produces 390 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque.
Inside, black leather and woven leather trim complement customized Recaro seats, a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, Porsche Classic infotainment, premium Audison and Hertz audio components, and a host of carefully tailored luxury details.
The chassis rides on staggered 17-inch Fuchs-style forged wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, supported by Öhlins adjustable suspension and Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes derived from the Porsche 993 Turbo. Additional exterior features include nickel-plated trim, bi-xenon headlights, a retractable rear spoiler, custom mirror assemblies, and full paint-protection film coverage.
