Thomas and James from Throttle House review the updated Porsche 911 Turbo S, highlighting major technical upgrades and how they affect its performance and character.

The new Turbo S introduces electrically assisted turbochargers that eliminate traditional turbo lag, allowing the turbos to spool instantly. This helps produce about 701 horsepower, making it the most powerful 911 ever built—slightly surpassing even the GT2 RS. Acceleration is extreme, feeling almost like teleportation, with seamless gear changes from the PDK transmission and incredibly smooth power delivery.

Handling also benefits from updated systems such as an electro-hydraulic version of Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, which uses the car’s high-voltage electrical system to improve body control. The result is immense grip and confidence through corners, though the added electrified components increase weight slightly and can be felt in some situations.

While the car remains astonishingly capable—14 seconds quicker around the Nürburgring than its predecessor—the hosts question its value. With a starting price around $270,000, it sits far above models like the GTS, which delivers similar real-world performance for much less.
