Since Porsche first used the Speedster name in 1954, it has represented some of the marque’s most desirable road cars. The latest iteration, based on the 991 generation, arrived in 2019 with a limited run of 1,948 units—paying tribute to the year Porsche began production.
This example, listed on Bring a Trailer with just 251 miles, is car number 679 of only 1,948 examples produced. Built on the 991.2 platform, it features the same drivetrain as the 911 GT3: a 4.0L flat-six making 502 HP paired exclusively with a 6-speed GT Sports manual transmission.
It’s equipped with the Heritage Design Package, which draws from Porsche’s early racing history, including graphics inspired by competition 356 models and Silver Metallic paint reminiscent of the period when most race cars wore the same raw silver finish. It also features a white front section and roundel displaying customizable racing numbers—23 on this example—plus Porsche script along the sills and 20-inch center-lock forged alloy wheels in silver.
Inside, the Heritage Design theme continues with Black and Cognac leather throughout the cabin, complemented by a GT Silver climate-control panel. Notable options include a Bose surround-sound system, Light Design Package, Voice Control, Chrono Package, and aluminum pedals and footrests.
Additional equipment reflects classic Speedster character, such as auto-dimming mirrors with rain-sensing capability and xenon headlights. Practical upgrades include the optional 23.7-gallon Extended Range Fuel Tank, a front-axle lift system for easier low-speed driving, and the key comfort option: automatic climate control with air-conditioning.
