Porsche 911 GT3 RS Destroys AMG GT R in Drag Race

The results came down to more than just power and torque

The Porsche 992 GT3 RS is among the most track-focused street cars available today, with much of its engineering inspired by endurance racing. But as shown in a recent video from the Carwow YouTube channel, its performance isn’t limited to the track—it can also take on serious supercars in a straight line.

The video below starts with introducing the specs of the cars lined up for the drag race, starting with the GT3 RS. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS runs a 4.0L naturally aspirated flat-six engine producing 525 hp and 465 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with launch control.

The Mercedes-AMG GTR, on the other hand, uses a 4.0L twin-turbo V8, making 585 hp and 700 Nm of torque. It also sends power to the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic with launch control and is heavier than the 911 by 155 kg.

The results came down to more than just power and torque—it was all about traction, weight balance, and clever electronics. So, you better watch the video to see how everything unfolded.
