Testing Fifteen Eleven’s Porsche 914 Restomod

What if the Porsche 914 had never been considered the oddball of the lineup? That’s the question Fifteen Eleven Design set out to answer with their radical restomod—a stunning reengineering of the classic 914 that transforms it into something genuinely ferocious.

The original four-cylinder engine has been replaced. In its place sits a 3.4-liter flat-six from a 987.2 Boxster/Cayman, tuned with forged pistons and an upgraded ECU to produce 380 horsepower—three times more than the original 914/6. This power is paired with a curb weight of just around 1,000 kg (thanks to a carbon-fiber body), resulting in a power-to-weight ratio comparable to that of a modern 911 Turbo S.

Visually, it’s unmistakably a 914, but wider and more aggressive in appearance. It sits on 18-inch wheels wrapped in massive 265/35 rubber. Moby Dick-style headlights, period-style Fuchs wheels, and subtle Fifteen Eleven branding blend the retro with the radical. The interior is equally bespoke, combining burgundy leather, Pepita fabric, and Alcantara with Porsche’s latest infotainment and air conditioning system.
