DragTimes on YouTube is back with another drag race video featuring a 2024 Porsche 911 Turbo S going up against the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.
Under the hood, the Corvette ZR1 features a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged LT7 V8 engine mounted mid-ship. It produces around 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque, with some dyno results suggesting it makes closer to 1,180 horsepower. Chevrolet estimates a 0–60 mph time of just 2.3 seconds and a top speed between 215 and 233 mph.
Meanwhile, the 911 Turbo S is powered by a 3.7-liter twin-turbo flat-six in a rear-engine layout. It delivers 641 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, reaching 60 mph in 2.7 seconds with a top speed of roughly 205 mph.
The ZR1 is rear-wheel drive and offers an optional ZTK aero package, which generates more than 1,200 pounds of downforce at top speed. Its setup is ideal for aggressive acceleration and high-speed stability. The 911 Turbo S counters with a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system, rear-axle steering, torque vectoring, and Porsche Active Suspension Management.
Price-wise, the Corvette ZR1 starts at around $173,000 to $175,000 for the 1LZ trim, while the 911 Turbo S starts above $200,000. Although both cars can become significantly more expensive with options, the ZR1 offers near-hypercar performance at a lower base cost.
