For Stuttcars contributor Kieron Fennelly, the Porsche story didn’t begin with a test drive or a lifelong dream. It began with his son. Watching him modify his first car sparked something familiar, a memory from decades earlier, when Kieron would pause outside a sports car dealership in North London to admire the 911s he couldn’t yet afford.

Eventually, that memory turned into action. Kieron began tinkering with the family station wagon, investing in performance upgrades and a sportier exhaust. But as he soon realized, there’s only so much you can do to make a standard production car feel special. Porsche began to fill his thoughts.
