Sesquicentennial Reflections
Sesquicentennial is not a word that is often used in automotive writing. It means ‘150th anniversary’. We are starting to get used to centennial anniversaries such as the 100th anniversary of the first Indy 500, the first Le Mans race, and the founding of marques such as Daimler and Benz, Ford or Lincoln, Peugeot, Renault, Fiat, etc. September 3rd of 2025 marks the 150th birthday of Dr. Ferdinand Porsche. It seems like a good time to consider the state of his legacy and review some things that readers may not know about the founder of Porsche.
