This 1959 Porsche 356A coupe was refurbished and modified in the early 2000s, including a repaint in Meissen Blue and the installation of an aluminum hood and vented decklid, GT-style bumpers, Lexan side windows, and a Le Mans-style fuel filler.
Power is supplied by a replacement 1,720cc flat-four fitted with twin-plug cylinder heads and upgraded internals linked with a four-speed manual transaxle. Front disc brakes and Koni shocks were also added, and additional modifications include a roll bar, low-back bucket seats with harnesses, leather hood straps, mesh headlamp covers, Marchal driving lamps, and 15″ alloy wide-five wheels.
The car was acquired by 1985 Indianapolis 500 winner Danny Sullivan in the mid-2010s and was purchased by the seller after being listed on BaT in April 2021. This modified 356A coupe is now offered on dealer consignment with a tool kit, service records, and a clean California title.
