Shortly after production ended for the legendary 1973 Carrera RS 2.7, Porsche introduced a new high performance, fuel-injected 911 Carrera model based on the new G-series platform. The more powerful versions produced for rest-of-world (RoW) markets are colloquially known as “MFI” cars, referencing their Bosch mechanically fuel-injected 2.7-liter flat-six engine derived from the Carrera RS.
This 1975 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 Coupe is one of 518 MFI examples produced during the model year. It came factory-finished in Blue Metallic over a Black leather interior and is equipped with a 5-speed manual transaxle, optional Koni shock absorbers, “S” brakes, an electric antenna, a “slicktop” roof, a black headliner, a sound system, and fog lights.
The car was originally sold in Germany and imported to California from South Africa under the previous ownership. Since the current owner’s acquisition, this 911 has undergone a restoration, featuring a full bare-metal repaint, a new dashboard, headliner, refurbished Fuchs wheels, and rebuilds of the original engine and gearbox.
The rare, numbers-matching 911 Carrera 2.7 MFI is now being offered for auction out of Colorado, accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
