One of just 410 units built for the U.S. market during a limited two-year production run, this 2008 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (997.1) is a highly sought-after example of Porsche’s track-focused homologation special. Finished in Carrara White over Black leather and Alcantara, it is powered by the legendary 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six paired with a 6-speed manual transaxle and limited-slip differential. Factory equipment includes the Chrono Package, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), PASM with adjustable coilovers, and 19″ black-finished wheels mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
The 997.1 GT3 RS builds upon the GT3 with a widened track, carbon-fiber rear wing, and distinctive RS graphics and bodywork. This example features bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, headlight washers, LED taillights, and dual center-exit exhaust outlets. The side decals and stone guards were replaced, and paint-protection film has been applied to the front bumper cover.
Inside, the lightweight hard-back sport seats are trimmed in Black leather and Alcantara, with Alcantara also covering the steering wheel, shifter, and handbrake lever. Equipment includes automatic climate control, a CD stereo, power windows, and the Sport Chrono Package, which adds a dashboard-mounted stopwatch and enhanced driving modes.
The heart of the GT3 RS is its 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six, a motorsport-derived engine featuring titanium connecting rods, dry-sump lubrication, and VarioCam variable valve timing. Output is rated at 415 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque, sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission and a mechanical limited-slip differential.
Representing the last of the original Mezger-powered RS cars, this 997.1 GT3 RS combines rarity, analog performance, and motorsport pedigree. A compelling collector-grade offering with Porsche’s hallmark durability and driver engagement.
