Vehicle Details

This 1988 Porsche 959 Komfort is one of 292 production examples manufactured between 1986 and 1988 and was completed in May 1988 before being delivered new via a Stuttgart dealer to its first owner in Geneva, Switzerland. In 2010, the car was imported to Canada, where it was purchased by its current owner four years ago. Finished in Grand Prix White over black leather, the car is powered by a 2,849cc flat-six that features water-cooled cylinder heads, quad overhead camshafts, and sequential twin turbochargers, the latter of which were rebuilt in 2016. A six-speed manual gearbox relays power to all four wheels through a Porsche-Steuer Kupplung (PSK) all-wheel-drive system with electronically controlled drive settings. Additional features include electronically adjustable suspension system, drilled and ventilated anti-lock disc brakes, 17” hollow-spoke magnesium alloy wheels, a tire-pressure monitoring system, anti-lock brakes, power-adjustable sport seats, air conditioning, and a Blaupunkt Bremen cassette stereo. This 959 is now offered in North York, Ontario, on consignment by the Florida-based selling dealer with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a service booklet stamped through 2008, service invoices dating back to 2016, and Ontario registration.

The 2,849cc M959/50 quad-cam flat-six was based on the powerplant used in the 956 and 962 race cars and features air-cooled Nikasil-lined cylinders, water-cooled cylinder heads with four valves per cylinder, titanium connecting rods, forged alloy pistons, and dry-sump lubrication. Sequential twin turbochargers, twin intercoolers, and Bosch Motronic engine management helped deliver a factory-rated output of 444 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. This example’s turbochargers were rebuilt in 2016, at which time the intercoolers were cleaned and the turbo oil lines were repaired. Additional work performed between 2016 and 2023 included fluid changes and replacement of the fuel pressure regulator, fuel pressure damper, fuel lines, spark plugs, distributor rotor and cap, and various seals.

The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity lists the original colors, component numbers, and optional equipment. A service booklet included in the sale is stamped with service events through 2008. Engine number *65H00274* is shown stamped on the case in the photo gallery below, which also includes an image of transaxle number 75H271.

The Carfax report lists events beginning in 2010 and includes a report of the 2012 accident, which is noted as exceeding $2k CAD in damage. The most recent entry notes that the car passed a safety inspection in Ontario on January 10, 2025.

The vehicle does not have a title and is being sold on its Ontario registration, which serves as the ownership document in Ontario, Canada. As a note to bidders: If the winning bidder is located outside of the US, the sale will be conducted as a private-party transaction with the current owner, while US-based buyers will complete the sale through the selling dealer, a licensed retail dealer in Florida.
