Bespoke RUF 911 “Goldfinger” Heads to Auction

Transformed by RUF in 2018 at a cost of nearly €400,000

This stunning 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe, known as “Goldfinger,” was transformed by RUF in 2018 at a cost of nearly €400,000 and will be auctioned by Broad Arrow Auctions at Monterey on August 14, with an estimated value of up to $1,100,000.

Originally a U.S.-market 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe, this car was completely reimagined by RUF in 2018, commissioned by a private client to evoke the spirit of the 1974 3.0 RSR with a unique personal touch. The factory 3.2-liter air-cooled flat-six engine was enlarged to 3.4 liters, producing 270 horsepower—up 39 hp from stock—paired with a G50 five-speed transmission and an upgraded clutch.

It features a bespoke integrated roll cage, RUF-developed dampers, and CTR-spec brakes, while its reworked RSR-style body is finished in 991-generation Lime Gold Metallic. Subtle modifications, such as a retractable 964-style spoiler, a custom rear bumper with parking sensors, and shaved rain gutters, enhance the design without compromising its vintage appeal.

Inside, it’s trimmed in buffalo dark brown leather and Pepita Houndstooth fabric, with carbon bucket seats, gold Alcantara headliner, modern HVAC, and RUF infotainment. With under 5,000 kilometers since completion and accompanied by a clean history, Goldfinger is a rare fusion of performance, craftsmanship, and bespoke styling.
