Ex–Billy Gibbons Widebody Porsche 356–Style Speedster Custom

This Porsche 356-style speedster custom was built by D&D Specialty Cars in Arkansas, in collaboration with Vintage Air of San Antonio. The car is one of a pair built for ZZ Top lead singer and guitarist Billy Gibbons and bandmate Frank Beard. However, due to delays Beard lost interest and both cars remained with Gibbons.

It is finished in black over black upholstery and is powered by an air-cooled 1,776cc flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a CarGem frame, a widebody design, a black soft top, a roll bar, air conditioning, 15″ steel wheels, front disc brakes, dual Weber carburetors, and a JVC cassette stereo.

This 356-style speedster custom is now offered with a New Jersey title in the seller’s name listing the car as a 1955 356 Roadster.
