On August 15, 2025, the Monterey Pines Golf Course became more than just a picturesque backdrop for polished sheet metal and passionate conversations. It became a living monument to Porsche culture in North America as the Porsche Club of America (PCA) celebrated its 70th anniversary during the eleventh annual Werks Reunion Monterey.

The turnout was staggering. Thousands of enthusiasts, members, and spectators made their way to the fairways, where rows of cars stretched further than the eye could follow. From concours-quality early 356s to the latest 911 GT3 RS and Taycan Turbo S, the field was a visual journey through Porsche’s seven-decade story.

The milestone brought together clubs, owners, and enthusiasts from across the country for a day that mixed history with celebration. On the show field, visitors could wander through rows of cars ranging from rare vintage models to the newest examples fresh from Stuttgart, a reminder of just how wide the Porsche story stretches.

Porsche itself has long acknowledged the PCA’s role in the brand’s success in North America. The club’s events, track days, and publications helped transform Porsche ownership into a lifestyle rather than a simple purchase. That legacy was on full display at Werks Reunion, where camaraderie mattered as much as the cars themselves.

Highlights on the Show Field

Every Werks Reunion has its gems, but the 2025 edition leaned heavily into history to honor the club’s milestone year.

  • “Targas Through the Years” drew crowds with a full timeline of Porsche’s iconic open-roof design, from the original 1967 soft-window models to today’s sophisticated 992 Targa 4 GTS.
  • Porsche 912s were given their own spotlight, reminding onlookers that accessible, lightweight, and simple cars have always been a part of Porsche’s DNA.
  • The Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge entries stole more than a few hearts, with perfectly restored 944s, 928s, and air-cooled 911s. Each was a testament to the dedication of both technicians and owners who treat these cars as rolling art.

Beyond the official displays, the diversity of member-owned cars was staggering. You could stumble upon a patina-rich 356 parked alongside a track-prepped Cayman GT4 RS, or a Safari-style 911 Carrera 4 sitting not far from a perfectly preserved Carrera GT. It was less a curated museum and more a living, breathing community.

The atmosphere felt more like a reunion than a show. Thousands of spectators swapped stories, admired restorations, and reconnected over their shared passion for the brand. Free admission once again kept the event open to anyone curious enough to stop by, which added to the inclusive and energetic vibe that Werks Reunion has become known for.

Porsche, Past and Future

For Porsche AG, events like this are more than goodwill gatherings. They’re reminders that the brand’s heritage and future are inseparably tied to its enthusiasts. The presence of both modern EVs like the Taycan and historical classics like the 356 highlighted the spectrum of Porsche ownership in 2025.

And as Porsche pivots toward electrification and new technologies, the PCA serves as the bridge between past traditions and future possibilities. Judging by the turnout and energy in Monterey, the community is eager to embrace both.

A Tribute Worthy of 70 Years

The Werks Reunion has always been a must-attend stop during Monterey Car Week, but this year carried an extra weight. It wasn’t simply another car show. It was a milestone celebration for a club that has been instrumental in shaping Porsche culture in North America.

Seventy years in, the PCA remains as strong as ever — not just because of the cars, but because of the bonds forged between people who share the same passion. The 70th anniversary celebration at Werks Reunion Monterey 2025 was proof that Porsche ownership is more than a hobby. It’s a way of life that continues to grow, evolve, and inspire.

As the sun dipped low over the Monterey Pines, the final rows of cars gleamed in the golden light, and attendees lingered just a little longer. Nobody wanted the day — or the first 70 years of PCA history — to end.
