One of only 14 lightweight CTR 2 Sport models ever made, this 1998 RUF is among the most exclusive and advanced air-cooled performance cars of the 1990s. Built on a Porsche 993 chassis, it features a 580-horsepower 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six, RUF’s own six-speed transmission, and all-wheel drive—delivering 0–100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 217 mph. This made it the fastest production car of its time.
Originally ordered by RUF enthusiast Frank Beddor, it was custom-finished in non-metallic Black over a full green leather interior and equipped with rare carbon-ceramic brakes, shaving weight while boosting stopping performance.
Chassis No. W09BC0360WPR06007 was built from a body-in-white shell in June 1998 and was later refreshed at the RUF factory following minor transport damage and further enhanced with Bilstein PSS10 coilovers. Having passed through some of the world’s finest collections, it now shows under 17,000 miles and received a full service at RUF North America in July 2025.
One of only four CTR 2 Sports built with AWD, this car embodies RUF’s unique blend of race-bred engineering and road-going usability. It will be auctioned by Broad Arrow Auctions on August 14 at their Monterey sale, with an estimated value of up to $ 3.5 million.
