1991 Singer DLS Porsche 911 Live on BaT

The 73rd of 75 DLS examples built by Singer

Commissioned in 2017 by longtime client Scott Blattner, Singer’s Dynamics and Lightweight Study (DLS) aimed to push the 964-generation Porsche 911 to its limits using advanced lightweight materials. Partnering with Williams Advanced Engineering, the project drew on Formula One expertise in aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, and materials.

Only 75 units were produced, and one of them is currently available for sale on Bring a Trailer. The 73rd of 75 DLS examples produced, this car, with only 18 miles on the odometer since its completion, had a sticker price of $2,201,853.

Finished in Fluid Silver, a $90,000 option, it features ghosted side stripes, Earth Blue lettering, exposed carbon-fiber elements, bead-blasted nickel trim, and gold decklid badging. Signature Singer details include a central fuel filler, external oil cap, ram-air intakes in the rear quarter windows, LED lighting, and polished Graphite exhaust tips.

It rides on bespoke Fuchs-style, forged magnesium center-lock wheels by BBS, featuring white-gold barrels, and is wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Brembo supplied the advanced braking system, which includes carbon-ceramic rotors and Bosch ABS, ESC, and traction control.

The cabin features custom carbon-fiber Recaro seats upholstered in dark blue leather with tartan cloth inserts, extensive carbon detailing, semi-exposed shift linkage, and a Focal audio system. The 11,000 rpm tachometer is trimmed in 18-karat gold.

Power comes from a bespoke 4.0-liter flat-six engine producing 500 horsepower, featuring titanium rods, four-valve heads, a 9,000 rpm redline, and advanced cooling and intake systems. A magnesium six-speed Hewland gearbox handles power delivery. Extensive use of carbon fiber, magnesium, and titanium keeps weight to just 990 kg. Brembo brakes, EXE-TC dampers, and forged BBS wheels complete the chassis.
